Personal Opinion

Optically, this lens is the same as the EF35-70mm f/3.5-4.5A, in other words, same as the "A" version. The built quality is also similar, with some obvious differences.
The "A" version lacks the distance scale. It also lacks the AF/MF switch, which means that any camera using this lens can only do AF, and not MF. Hence, in tricky conditions, if the camera cannot focus, there is no way where you can focus this lens.
