Just wanted to let you know that you can use the same lens hood for this lens as for the TS-E 90 mm lens which is ES-65 III. It's the exact same size as the original ES-65 for the 50 mm lens just improved (with black flocking material inside for example). It gives much better protection than any hood which is mounted to the filter thread because the ES-65 is fixed to the barrel (which is more sturdy than the extending part of the lens. I was lucky to find a used 50 mm f1.8 MK I earlier this year in really good shape and I sold my MK II without any regret.
