Personal Opinion I went to Malaysia over one weekend when they were having a Photo Fair to get my first look at this lens. Supposedly, after it has been demo-ed in Malaysia, it will be brought to Singapore. Whether or not Singapore will have one for hands-on purposes remain to be seen. The lens is not much smaller. It is definitely lighter but potential buyers hoping that this new lens will allow them to have more space in their camera bag (in comparison to the EF70-200mm f/2.8L) will be disappointed. So, it is light but not small. The lens hood is an ugly round thing, unlike the beautiful petal shape one that comes with the EF70-200mm f/2.8L version. Then again, as long as it is functional, who cares? More on this lens as soon as I am able to obtain a loan from Canon Singapore.
